Rabbit Reviews: BITE BEAUTY Agave Lip Mask
This winter has been really brutal here in NYC and I noticed my normal lip care routine (which was basically just Vaseline) wasn’t quite cutting it. My lips were ridiculously dry and chapped all the time, making it virtually impossible to wear any sort of lipstick. When I saw this appear under Sephora’s “New Arrivals” section with pretty solid reviews, I decided to take a chance.
I must say, this stuff has significantly improved the quality of my lips. Within a week of using it on severely chapped lips (only at night), they were pretty much healed. Unlike other lip balms that seem to sit on top of the lips, this one penetrates and heals. (Maybe that’s why they call it a mask instead of a balm) It also is made of mostly natural ingredients, doesn’t smell bad and doesn’t taste bad either. It has a bit of a vanilla scent.
There are a few downsides to his excellent lip mask, though. First of all, it is more pricey than most lip balms, with a price tag of $26, and the tube itself is fairly small. Speaking of the tube, it’s pretty hard to squeeze it to get any product out and it would’ve been easier to use in a tub or stick form. Lastly, this stuff is super thick (and I mean super) so I don’t find it works well beneath lipstick. Thus, I only put it on at night when I sleep. In the morning, I need to use a different lip balm.
Overall, I definitely think it’s worth its expensive price tag. It managed to heal my lips in a short period of time during an awful bout of cold weather. If you think your lips are hopeless, I’d recommend giving this a try before giving up on them.
