I picked up this deluxe sample of Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask from Sephora with 100 VIB points. I was interested to try it because my face occasionally breaks out and this is supposed to help clear your pores. I’ve heard that charcoal is great for people with acne problems.
To use this mask, you slather a thin layer on your face and then wait 5 or so minutes for it to dry. It actually dries pretty quickly compared to many other masks I’ve used. After it’s dry, you can wash it off with warm water.
I’ve been using this product once a week for the past month or so and I have to say, I don’t really see a difference. My acne has stayed about the same and even though my pores seem really clear when I first take off the mask, they fill up with the usual gunk pretty quickly. The mask itself doesn’t tingle or irritate my skin and it does seem to feel nice right when you use it, but I have yet to see any long term effects.
A full size version of this mask will cost you about $23 but I wouldn’t recommend it! Maybe someone with worse acne than mine would benefit more from it. If you’re really curious, try scoring a sample like I did. Otherwise, I bet there are other pore-clearing masks that work a lot better.
